Why do you volunteer with Project Play: We closed on our home in Winthrop the day I found out I was pregnant with my first born. We renovated our home during my pregnancy and moved in 2 weeks before I actually gave birth. Winthrop was now home, and I was looking to find my place in the community. I came across one of Project Play’s events at the Winthrop Farmers Market that first summer with my daughter. This was exactly what I, as a new parent in town, needed. It helped me meet other parents and build a community. I loved the mission, and after my son was born, I decided I wanted to help do more of this. It’s such a wonderful opportunity for children and parents to come together!
Family: Husband Victor and two kids, 2 & 3.5.
Hometown: Brasil and Pompano Beach FL.
When did you move to Winthrop: 2022
Fun Fact: I’m a huge Sailor Moon fan.

Why do you volunteer with Project Play: When I first heard Winthrop described as “a good place to grow up and a good place to grow old” I wanted to help make that first part true for my kids. Finding my parent friends and making opportunities for new parents to connect with others is my favorite part of Project Play. A strong community depends on these connections! I’m grateful for the many parents and kids I’ve met through Project Play, and I’m excited to meet more of you.
